Want more on the carca-diculous dead goat story that begins and ends in the 'Dale?

Fear not, a complete follow-up story will be posted tomorrow once the HDN comes out, but after a long day of work I was directed to a phenomenal blog, run by a pair of former Collegian writers who actually covered the baseball team. They give the reader a great feel for how out of hand this story quickly got on a national level. Their finding also show how ignorant some people are and how starved some news publications are to find something to go off about, instead of spending time going a little bit deeper. Their blog is called The Sad Bear, but from my scrounging around their site I'd call it the Inquisitive Owl. Their groundwork, coupled with their desire to get ahold of me has given me a little renewed hope about young journalists can take advantage of this constantly evolving medium.

This saga is far from over, but the animals are indeed roadkill, college students are definitely acting the part and it may be the little things learned from this all that are most interesting in the end, from a journalistic and institutional perspective.

Alright, time to quit deepening the bags under my eyes so I can get back out there tomorrow and a new post should be on around noon.
