The Jonesville baseball team officially made the Big Eight regular season crown its own with an 11-1 mercy-rule win over Union City Tuesday.
The Comets scored runs in each of the first four innings, including six in the fourth to earn sole possession of the title.
Jonesville is now 12-1 in Big Eight play, with its lone loss coming to Reading.
Ben Stemen was the winning pitcher, striking out six and walking six in five innings. He also added three RBI.
Teammate Casey Clow did likewise, hitting a double and triple, while driving in three runs.
Joe Kroa added two RBI and John Sigler had two hits.
The Comets are 18-5 overall.
