Still feeling things out: Area teams have a wide range of success Wednesday

Hornets lose two
Hillsdale dropped a pair of matches in a quad-meet at home Wednesday night.
The Hornets are now 5-6 on the season after a 48-29 loss to Onsted and a 45-27 loss to Ida.
The Hornets lighter weights fared pretty decent, but voids at 171, 189 and 286 pounds killed them.
Giving up 18 points before each match even started was a little too much too overcome.
Winning two matches for Hillsdale were Zack Annis at 103 and Kyle Bastien at 152.
Winning one match apiece for the Hornets were: Brandon McMullen (112), Bill Benoit (119), Nate Moskal (125), Jesse Braxmaier (130), Kyle Spieth (140), Devon Butler (145), and Jeremy Herzberg (160).

Wildcats split a pair
Pittsford took a split with Mendon and Climax-Scotts at a home tri-meet Wednesday and their overall record now stands at 5-6 on the season.
The Wildcats fell to Mendon 52-28, but recovered against the Panthers in a 47-16 win.
Cody McClouth, Kurtis Brackman and Jesse Momonee both won a pair of matches to help their cause.
Winning one match each on the evening were: Mike Benedict, Brian Killman, Luke Irwin, Taylor Hatfield and Brad Bolenbaugh.
Head coach Nik Weber saw some good things out of his team, but plenty of room for improvement.
“They wrestled hard and put in a good effort, but we're not where we want to be yet,” he said. “(Some of our young guys) haven't quite reached the potential I need them to yet.”

Comets down Athens
The Jonesville Varsity wrestling team traveled to Athens on Wednesday and came away with a decisive 60-18 victory.
Winning matches for the Comets were Remy Whitehill, Nick Ballinger, Kage Johnson, Nick Barnhill, Howie Roberts,Tyler Hicks, Josh Ellington, Brandon Miller, Jerico Kelley, and Curtis Ellis.
Jonesville travels to Ida on Saturday for a tournament.
